Creative Partnerships:
Over the past 5 years lost dog has been engaged in the Creative Partnerships Research Project.  During that time we have worked with 9 schools in total ranging from 6 months projects to 4 year ones.  At present lost dog are working with:
Reevy Hill Primary School
Entering its third and final year this project has been focussed on two aspects; developing a creative learning space within the school and working one to one with teachers to explore the potential of creative practises in their everyday teaching.  The project is in collaboration with the visual artist Lou Sumray.
Rodillian Arts College
Now in our second year, working alongside several other artists and a large teaching team, this project is focussed on developing the year 7 curriculum, in particular the 'learning to learn' agenda.  Work has included designing a performance style treasure hunt for 200 students as well as supporting long project work done by the teaching staff. lost dog has also worked independently with the school to write and present a 'local myth' to tie into their new reading scheme.
Carlton Bolling Secondary
A 6 month project working with Reel Studio productions to create 2 multi media 'adventures' for the year 7 students to experience.  Designed to encourage the students to explore their local community in a different way and in turn explore a new and contrasting one for the first time, the project has also engaged the 6th form students to design and run the adventures.

C-Media Productions
lost dog has a long collaborative relationship with C-Media productions working on many of their schools and community productions facilitating sessions in script writing, ideas generation and performance techniques.  Recent projects have included a commissioned film for Sheffield Arts Gallery and a series of short films for non-English speaking immigrants.
Wannabe Arts
lost dogs oldest project involvement is with Wannabe Arts; a multi art form Saturday club based in Holmewood, Bradford.  Originally conceived as a way to engage with the areas disaffected young people, the project has grown from strength to strength consistently throughout its life.  As well as facilitating the drama sessions, lost dog have now written 5 bespoke scripts for the group to perform, and directed a total of 8 full productions.

Lost dog theatre has been running an extensive and highly respected workshop and project program throughout the Yorkshire region for the last 6 years.  Though the bulk of their engagement is concerned with the role of creative arts in educational settings, their work also includes skills based training in all aspects of theatre, and in the writing of and producing of youth productions, as well as specific performance commissions
Where possible the company works in collaboration with other artists exploring how the tools and skills used in creative practise can support, engage and enhance the enjoyment of both students and staff alike in the delivery of curriculum based material.

In many instances this work has culminated in the creation of what we term 'adventure' projects in which a treasure hunt style journey is designed for the students (often by other students) in which they can engage in a number of different environments, people, experiences and learning materials, whilst following a plot and being led by performers.  Recent examples of this have included a Spy School, a Pirate Treasure Hunt, and the kidnapping of a school secretary by a cartoon villain (the class heroes also managed to defuse his cartoon bomb)!

If you would be interested in working with the company either as a school, organisation or creative artist please contact us to discuss the opportunities further.
