If you get the chance in the next couple of weeks (November) get yourself to Leeds Market and seek out Invisible Flock's new installation 'Bring the Happy'.  Add your memory to their database and help map Leeds.  Brilliant stuff.

Slunglow, Unlimited and Belt Up theatre companies are joining forces to host a Christmas Fayre on 11th December.  See news or visit their website for more details.

Slunglow Christmas Fayre
Slunglow have teamed up with Unlimited and Pilot Theatre to bring us all a little Christmas cheer this year.  On the 11th December (11am - 4pm) they will be hosting at the Holbeck Underground Ballroom, a Christmas Fayre stuffed with stalls, music, stories, mulled wine and a Hog Roast.  They have been asking everyone and anyone that wants to hold a stall to get in touch over the past few weeks and already have a fantastic mix of people coming along - from arts and crafts (for that last minute chrimbo shop) to arts companies showcasing their work.  It promises to be a great day all round and we hope to see everybody there.

New Production
Mid-December sees the very first, young steps, of our new production Under the Bed.  Envisioned as a modern fairytale for all ages, the production promises to blend traditional Grimm archetypes with the modern world and a liberal sprinkling of lost dogs dark sense of humour.
For now, the collaborators will be meeting simply to discuss possibilities for the production as a whole and to have a play with some of the more challenging aspects of the production.  Full rehearsals are due to start early next year, quickly followed by some preview performances.  A full tour is scheduled for mid 2011 so keep your eyes peeled for more info.

The production is currently looking for a set designer to join the team.  Please email The Kennel if you are interested

Coming to an End
lost dog are moving into their third and final year with Reevy Hill Primary School and are very sad to announce it.  As part of the Creative Partnerships research project (all of which are now finishing) the project has been, quite frankly, brilliant. We have been lucky enough to work in collaboration with the visual artist Lou Somray and the teaching staff at the school.  The project has run in two strands, firstly working one to one with 2 teachers a year to help design, support and implement long projects and themes that their curriculum based subjects can work within.  These projects have included, visual arts, performance, photography, storytelling, modelling and music.
The second strand of work has revolved around the design and creation of a 'creative' classroom for the school to use in its everyday life.  This multi art form space, though still developing, now houses a built in, raised, stage (designed by the students and built with the help of Bradford Woodworkers), a kitchen area, Comfy sofa corner, story tent, arts resource corner and of course fold away tables and chairs for general class use.  The room has become a genuinely versatile space for the school now and the Student Council are currently building towards managing the classroom independently.  It needs a name though - so any suggestions welcome!

With 7 months left the attention has now turned to ensuring that the work can continue once we have gone - both with the staff and students alike.

Looking for a musician
As always, lost dog are looking for new musicians to work with.  Our style and approach to the use of music in theatre is one of our main strengths and provides a huge influence for the work we create.  At this moment we are particularly eager to hear from violinists or cellists though please do not think you shouldn't get in touch if you play something else.
You do not need to have any experience of working in theatre before either, just a desire to collaborate on a project with us and a willingness to experiment with your own art form.

A Fond Farewell
We are sad to say that Mr Richard Warburton has left the Kennel that is lost dogs home to grow some wings.  As one of the founding members of the company the world will of course be a stranger place without him around on a daily basis and though he will continue to work with us on projects as a freelancer from time to time this change in direction will allow him to concentrate on other projects as well.  Richard is pursuing his interests in interactive arts installations and has started the new company Invisible Flock in order to do this (have a look at Other Gossip to find out about the ace work they are doing) as well as starting his PHD on Audience Participation.  We wish him all the best with his new adventures and would urge everybody to seek out the work he produces.

Mailing List
Lost Dogs new mailing list has now started.  To receive information about forthcoming productions and projects and generally find out about our adventures please email thedog saying 'count me in!'
